Yes. Gilani Engineering is a registered NDIS provider listed with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. We support participants who are self-managed, plan-managed, or agency-managed. We provide NDIS-compliant quotes that include support item numbers and all documentation required by your plan manager or the NDIA portal for approval.
What products and services can be funded through NDIS?

Yes. We work closely with occupational therapists, support coordinators, iCare, and Veterans Affairs across Australia. What types of wheelchairs are available for purchase?
Our Wheelchair range includes manual wheelchairs in a variety of seat widths from 40cm to 56cm including bariatric options, self-propelled and attendant-propelled models, folding lightweight electric wheelchairs for easy transport, and full-size motorised electric wheelchairs for ongoing powered mobility. All wheelchairs in our hire fleet come with a full demonstration and setup before use. Our technicians deliver to your home, aged care facility, rehabilitation centre, or hospital.
Can I hire a wheelchair for short-term use?
Yes. Gilani Engineering offers wheelchair hire across Australia for individuals who need short-term mobility support — whether for post-surgery recovery, travel, respite care, or while waiting for a permanent equipment solution. Our hire fleet includes manual wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs, and motorised powered wheelchairs. All hire equipment meets TGA standards and Australian engineering compliance requirements. Hire is available for NDIS participants, private clients, aged care recipients, and Home Care Package holders.
Can I hire a mobility scooter?
Yes. We offer mobility scooter hire for individuals who need powered outdoor mobility support on a short-term or interim basis. Our scooters are suitable for shopping, community access, and day-to-day independence. Hire is available for NDIS participants and private clients across Australia, with delivery available to your home or care facility.
Is wheelchair and scooter hire covered by NDIS?
Yes, in many cases. Wheelchair hire may be funded under your Assistive Technology — Low Cost or Assistive Technology — Mid Cost support budget, depending on the device and hire duration. We provide NDIS-compliant quotes including the required support item numbers and TGA ARTG listing details your plan manager needs to approve the hire. Can I hire a wheelchair accessible vehicle?
We offer flexible wheelchair accessible vehicle hire across Sydney and NSW, including short-term, long-term, and interim hire while you wait for a permanent vehicle modification. Our hire fleet features the Hyundai Staria NoRamp – ideal for powered wheelchairs and mobility scooters. WAV hire is available for NDIS participants, private clients, and aged care recipients. What is the G24 wheelchair accessible vehicle and who is it for?
The G24 WAV is our flagship wheelchair accessible vehicle, engineered in-house at our Wetherill Park factory in Sydney. It features a custom lowered floor conversion, rear ramp or NoRamp entry system, four-point wheelchair restraint, and electric seatbelt integration. It is available for sale, hire, and NDIS-funded purchase, and suits private individuals, families, disability support providers, and fleet operators across Sydney, NSW, and Australia-wide.
Which vehicles can be modified for wheelchair access?
We specialise in wheelchair accessible conversions for the Kia Carnival, Hyundai Staria, Toyota Tarago, Toyota Voxy, and Volkswagen Caddy, among others. Our in-house engineering team can also assess and convert many other people movers and vans. All modifications are ADR-compliant and RMS-certified by our on-site engineers. Are your products TGA included?
Yes. Some of medical and assistive technology products we supply comply with Therapeutic Goods Administration standards and are listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods where required. When you request an NDIS quote from us, we include the relevant TGA ARTG listing details and engineering compliance documentation so your plan manager has everything they need for approval.

What after-sales support does Gilani Engineering provide?
Our support does not end after purchase. We provide full product demonstration and handover before collection or delivery, ongoing technical support from our Sydney-based team, repairs and servicing for mobility equipment, scooters, and lift chairs, maintenance and recalibration of wheelchair accessible vehicles, and warranty claim assistance and parts sourcing. We believe in long-term relationships with our clients — if something is not right, we will fix it.
Do your products come with a warranty?
Yes. All products we supply include a manufacturer’s warranty as a minimum. Our in-house engineering work — including vehicle modifications and custom installations — is backed by our own workmanship guarantee. We also assist clients in registering their products and processing warranty claims. Speak with our team for specific warranty details on any product you are considering.
Do you repair and service mobility equipment?
Yes. Our Sydney-based technicians provide structured diagnosis and repair services for wheelchairs, mobility scooters, lift chairs, and other mobility aids. All repairs begin with a written assessment and quotation before any work proceeds. Repaired equipment is fully tested before collection to confirm safe and reliable operation. We also carry out ongoing maintenance and servicing for wheelchair accessible vehicles and conversion equipment.
Are your vehicle modifications ADR and RMS compliant?
Yes. All vehicle modifications we carry out are engineered to meet Australian Design Rules and Roads and Maritime Services requirements. We have RMS-certified engineers on-site at our Wetherill Park factory who conduct compliance testing and issue engineering certificates. Every vehicle leaves our workshop roadworthy and fully documented, including VSCCS vehicle engineering certification where required.
What licences does Gilani Engineering hold?
Gilani Engineering holds a Motor Dealer Licence (MD096104), a Motor Vehicle Repairer Licence (MVRL62173), NDIS Provider Registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (registered until July 2027), and RMS-certified engineering capability with qualified engineers on-site. This combination is unique in the Australian mobility sector — it means we can supply, modify, sell, and service accessible vehicles under one roof with full regulatory compliance.
How long does a vehicle modification or WAV conversion take?
Timelines depend on the scope of the modification. Minor adaptations such as hand controls, steering knobs, Turny swivel seats, and boot hoists may take a few days. Full lowered floor WAV conversions for vehicles like the Kia Carnival and Hyundai Staria require longer scheduling due to the engineering complexity involved. We will give you a clear timeframe during your initial consultation. If you need an interim transport solution while waiting, we offer wheelchair accessible vehicle hire in the meantime.
