Which patient lifter do you need?
A floor hoist lifts a person in a compatible sling. A standing aid is intended for someone who can take some weight through their legs. The right choice also depends on sling fit, furniture clearances and the available transfer space.
Portable electric floor hoist
For assisted transfers between suitable beds, chairs and wheelchairs. Gilani lists a 180 kg portable electric patient hoist with hire and home-trial enquiries.

The Birdie Evo Compact is listed with a 150 kg capacity and a compact turning circle. Confirm the base fits under your furniture and can move through the actual doorway.

Gilani lists a 200 kg two-function patient hoist. Its full sling hoist function can be used without standing; the standing function is only suitable when the user can weight bear appropriately.

How hire works
From enquiry to handover
1. Tell us what is needed
Send the user’s transfer needs, postcode, dates and photos. An OT recommendation is useful for more complex transfers.
2. Receive a written quote
We confirm a suitable available unit and quote hire charges, any bond, delivery, collection, accessories and local setup separately.
3. Arrange delivery
We confirm the delivery method and timeframe. In-person installation and handover are arranged only within our local service area; ask us what support is available at your destination.
Hire-to-buy: If you may want to keep the hoist, tell us before booking. We can quote any applicable purchase option and explain in writing which, if any, hire payments are credited. No automatic credit is assumed.

How much does patient hoist hire cost?
The price depends on the unit, hire duration, sling and delivery location. Request a quote for the hire fee, any bond, freight, setup and collection before booking.
Do you deliver patient hoists across Australia?
Yes, we welcome Australia-wide delivery enquiries. We confirm the available model, freight method, timing and return arrangements for your postcode. In-person setup is available around our Sydney service area by arrangement.
Can I hire a standing hoist if the person cannot stand?
A stand assist unit requires an appropriate level of weight bearing. A full sling floor hoist may be more suitable when the person cannot stand. The transfer method should follow the person’s clinical and manual handling advice.
Is a sling included?
It depends on the model and the person’s needs. We will confirm sling compatibility, sizing and whether the sling is supplied, hired or purchased separately in the written quote.
Can I hire a hoist through an NDIS plan?
We can prepare an equipment hire quote for an NDIS participant. Whether the hire is funded depends on the participant’s plan and approval arrangements; send us any relevant OT recommendation and invoicing details.
Can I buy the hoist after hiring it?
Ask us for a hire-to-buy quote before you book. The purchase price and any credit for hire payments must be confirmed in writing for the selected unit.
