Description
Auto Folding Mobility Scooter Australia
Remote Control Foldable Travel Mobility Scooter — 5-Year Frame Warranty
Press a button. Watch it fold. No bending, no lifting, no effort.
Most people who buy this scooter tell us the same thing — they wished they’d found it sooner.
The remote control does everything. Press unlock, press initiate, hold to fold or unfold. The scooter does the rest in seconds. No crouching down, no pulling, no asking someone else to help. Just place it in the car boot and go. For users with arthritis, limited grip strength or anyone who travels regularly, the difference this makes to daily life is significant.
It folds down to 870 × 460 × 400 mm — compact enough to fit in most hatchback and sedan boots with room left for bags. Unfold it on the other end in the same amount of time.
This is backed by a 5-year frame warranty — longer than most comparable scooters on the market — and the 240Wh lithium battery meets standard airline requirements for most domestic and international carriers. The battery also removes from the scooter completely, which some airlines require.
NDIS registered provider — we handle the quotes, documentation and paperwork. Request your NDIS quote here or call (02) 8740 8963.

Is This the Right Scooter for You?
This scooter is built for people who want independence without the effort of manual folding. If you load a scooter into a car regularly, travel by plane or cruise ship, or find bending and lifting increasingly difficult — this is designed exactly for that.
It works particularly well for people with arthritis or reduced hand strength, NDIS participants looking for a portable mobility aid, aged care residents who want something easy to transport, and carers who need a scooter they can also push manually when required.
Best for:
- Users who want a fully automatic foldable mobility scooter — zero manual effort to fold or unfold
- Loading a portable mobility scooter into a car boot without bending or lifting
- Air travel — lithium battery (240Wh) within standard airline limits for most carriers
- Cruise ships, shopping centres, airports and everyday community access
- NDIS participants, aged care residents and seniors wanting greater independence
- Users with arthritis, limited grip strength or reduced upper body mobility
- Carers who need a scooter that can also be pushed manually when required
May not be ideal if:
- You need weight capacity above 100 kg — view heavy duty mobility scooters
- You need to use it in rain or wet conditions — this scooter is designed for dry use only
- You prefer a lighter manual option at a lower price — view the LITERIDER from $2,390
- You need a very tight indoor turning radius — view electric wheelchairs
What Makes It Different
The remote actually folds it — completely
The 4-button remote is straightforward: unlock, initiate, then hold to fold or unfold. The whole process takes seconds. If the remote battery ever goes flat, buttons on the scooter body do exactly the same thing. And if the scooter battery itself runs out while folded, plug the charger into the standby port, switch to standby mode, and it will unfold without needing a full charge first. There is always a way to get moving again.
The car boot question — answered
Folded, this scooter measures 870 × 460 × 400 mm. That fits comfortably in most hatchback and sedan boots with room left for bags. Measure your boot against those numbers before you order. If you also want a powered hoist to lift it automatically, we stock boot hoist and stowage solutions separately.
Airline ready — and we mean it
The lithium battery is 24V / 10AH, which is 240Wh. Most airlines — including Qantas, Virgin and the major international carriers — accept lithium batteries up to 300Wh. This one sits well under that. The battery also removes completely from the scooter, which some carriers ask for. Always confirm directly with your airline at least 48 hours before flying. Full guidance in our lithium battery safety guide.
5-year frame warranty — not just 12 months
Most portable scooters at this price carry a 12-month frame warranty. This one carries five years, backed by an ISO9001-certified manufacturer and serviced through Gilani Engineering here in Australia. The motor, controller, charger and battery are each covered for 12 months. If anything goes wrong, we’re the people you call. See our consumer guarantee for full details.
A carer can push it manually too
A freewheel lever on the base disengages the motor completely, letting a carer push the scooter manually. Useful in crowded areas, hospitals and anywhere the motor isn’t needed. Don’t use freewheel mode on a slope — the brakes disengage with the motor.
Tyres that never puncture
Solid 200mm inflation-free tyres front and rear. No pumping, no patches, no pressure checks. They just work.
NDIS funding — we handle the paperwork
Gilani Engineering is a registered NDIS provider. We supply quotes, assessments and documentation for eligible participants. Visit our NDIS OT assessment room or request a quote online.

Compare Your Options
Auto folding vs manual folding mobility scooters
No bending, no lifting, no physical effort — the remote does it for you. Backup buttons on the scooter body mean you’re never without a way to fold it. The 5-year frame warranty is longer than most manual folders offer. Better suited for users with arthritis, weak grip or anyone who travels frequently.
Prefer a lighter manual option at a lower price?

Need more range? Compare with the FNS01.
The FNS01 offers up to 20 km range versus 18 km on this model. Both fold automatically via remote control. This model has the lower folded height and the longer frame warranty.

Auto folding vs full-size mobility scooters
Fits in a car boot where full-size models won’t. Airline approved — most full-size scooters cannot fly. Easier to store at home, in a unit or in aged care. Better suited for travel, shopping centres and everyday short trips.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the remote control the driving or just the folding?
Just the folding and unfolding. The scooter is driven using the tiller handlebar and throttle lever on the scooter itself — the remote is only for folding.
Will it fit in my car boot?
Folded, it measures 870 × 460 × 400 mm. This fits most standard hatchback and sedan boots. Measure your boot first — we’d rather you check before buying than find out after. If you want a powered hoist to lift it into the car automatically, we have boot hoist options available separately.
Is the battery actually airline approved?
Yes. At 240Wh it is under the 300Wh limit accepted by most Australian and international airlines. The battery is removable, which some carriers require. Always confirm directly with your airline at least 48 hours before flying — policies vary by carrier.
What if the remote battery dies?
Buttons on the scooter body do exactly the same thing as the remote — you’re not stranded. If the scooter’s own battery is depleted and won’t unfold, connect the charger to the standby port, press standby, and it will unfold without needing a full charge.
Can my carer push it manually?
Yes. Engage the freewheel lever to disengage the motor and the scooter can be pushed like a manual chair. Don’t use freewheel mode on a slope — the brake disengages with the motor.
Is this scooter NDIS funded?
It can be. Gilani Engineering is a registered NDIS provider. If your occupational therapist determines it is reasonable and necessary for your plan, it can be funded under Capital Supports. Request a quote and we take it from there.
Can I use it in the rain?
No — this scooter is designed for dry conditions. Avoid rain, wet surfaces and snow. Exercise caution in light drizzle and cover the electrical controls if caught out unexpectedly.
How long does the battery last and how do I charge it?
Up to 18 km per charge under normal conditions. Charge time is 6–8 hours with the supplied charger. New batteries reach peak performance after 4–5 full charge cycles. The battery can be charged on or off the scooter.
What is the full warranty?
5 years on the frame. 1 year each on the motor, controller, charger and battery. Warranty is serviced through Gilani Engineering. See our consumer guarantee for full details.
