Frequently asked questions:

1-What are electric wheelchairs used for?
Electric and manual wheelchairs both allow the user to get around and undertake daily activities without assistance. An electric wheelchair, in particular, provides increased independence due to it's ease-of-use and the ability to travel without experiencing fatigue.
2- When should I start using a wheelchair?

Patients with temporary or permanent disabilities can benefit from a wheelchair prescription. For instance, a paraplegic experiences no feeling in the legs and may require a wheelchair for the rest of his or her life. A person with broken bones may need a wheelchair prescription until injuries have healed.

3-Can you use an electric wheelchair in the rain?
As a rule of thumb, electric wheelchairs should not get wet. Direct or prolonged exposure to water or dampness could cause the electric wheelchair to malfunction electronically and mechanically. Water can cause electrical components to corrode and the power chair's frame to rust.
4- How do I charge a wheelchair?

Position your electric wheelchair next to a standard electrical outlet. Be certain the joystick power is turned off and the electric wheelchair is in drive mode. Plug the off-board charger into the off-board charger/programming socket on the controller. Plug the off-board charger into the electrical outlet.
