6- Where to charge a power wheelchair?
A power wheelchair can be charged in many different ways. The Air Hawk electric wheelchair is highly versatile, and you can choose for both batteries to be charged at the same time by plugging the joystick into any wall power outlet, or you can charge the batteries individually by plugging each charger into the wall.
The good news is that the Air Hawk comes with two chargers: the joystick charger and a separate battery charger. This means you can freely leave your house and leave your spare chargers at home, charging on the wall.

Raji & Maria were very helpful in the purchase of the Air Hawk – Easter Wk 2023. I drove from the Vic Border to get it, knowing I had a delivery offer to save the trip.
Raji fitted extra anti tipper wheels which are solidly made. The online video’s with Maria using it were very helpful towards committing to making the drive to Smithfield with intentions to purchase.
The AIr Hawk is a gem and has given my wife freedom to go to places now and together as a couple to places like local the Botanical Gardens, Water Weir picnic spots, etc, etc. My wife’s first practice run was at a empty local Tafe carpark and the smile my wife had was precious and memorable. Previous Reviews helped us decide on this self funded purchase, l hope theses further comments help others with mobility issues to make a choice. I have had an Air Hawk for 5 months now. I can walk short distances, but the Air Hawk allows me to travel much further. Moves well over grassy areas, like lawns. It does travel over light-dirt footpaths etc, but the ride is a bit rough. I’d recommend that this be used primarily on even grounds, footpaths, shopping centres etc,. Batteries are easily charged and only takes a couple of hours to recharge from ½ charge.
An important consideration is whether the user will want to use the Air Hawk to sit at a table. Unfortunately the Controller is the same height as tabletops. So getting close to a table/bench for meals is an issue. You could disconnect the Controller, then remove it, but that renders the chair dead, and would then require someone elses assistance to unlock the wheels and push the chair nearer the table. Another issue is that small movements in a confined area are very jerky. Especially when reversing and the non-drive wheels at the front spin around. Positioning the chair on a bus or train wheelchair spot can be a nightmare when by yourself.
Overall, the chair is solid, reasonably maneouverable, comfortable and when new, the batteries only need a full charge once in a while. Galani’s service was quite good. The best thing is that parts are available in Australia, and help is only a phone call away.
