Ready to drive or built around your requirements

Availability changes. Tell us whether you need a vehicle soon or are planning a tailored conversion, and we will discuss the Staria options we can actually offer.

Option 01

Ask about available converted vehicles

Check current Staria WAV stock, wheelchair position, seating, vehicle details, equipment and delivery timing. We will help you arrange an inspection or suitability trial before committing.

Ask which Starias are available →

Option 02

Source a Staria and choose a conversion

Tell us about your wheelchair and passenger needs. We can discuss a suitable vehicle platform, the proposed access system, seating and restraints, then prepare a tailored vehicle and modification quotation.

Already own a Staria? Ask about conversion-only options. Suitability depends on the vehicle model, model year, condition and chosen layout.

Where will the wheelchair passenger travel?

Choose the layout before choosing the vehicle

Wheelchair position changes how people travel together and how much room remains for seating, equipment and luggage. Available layouts depend on the conversion and the wheelchair.

Second row

Travel closer to the front

Consider a second-row position if being nearer the driver, family or carer matters. Check the full occupied wheelchair envelope, adjacent passenger seating and restraint placement during a trial.

Third row

Prioritise your preferred cabin arrangement

A third-row position may suit a different mix of passengers and storage. We will check the proposed travel position and how the wheelchair enters, exits and secures.

Selected configurations

Two wheelchair passengers

Selected Staria conversions may accommodate two wheelchair positions, subject to wheelchair sizes, total loading, restraints and the final seating plan. Ask us to assess both actual chairs.

Compare the detailed Staria and Kia wheelchair seating layouts if you are still deciding which people mover suits your family.

Access choices

G24 NoRamp® or a conventional rear ramp

Both approaches can include a lowered wheelchair travel floor. What changes is the way the wheelchair enters the Staria. We will recommend a configuration after considering the person, chair and places the vehicle is used.

About NoRamp®: It is a lowered-floor conversion. The name describes the access method; it does not mean the vehicle floor stays at the original height. See how NoRamp® works.

Try the actual wheelchair

Will your wheelchair fit a Staria?

Measure the complete occupied wheelchair, including headrest, joystick, footplates and any medical equipment. Check the entry opening as well as head clearance in the travel position. Wheelchair fit alone does not establish a suitable or safe travel arrangement.

For the published G24 Staria specification, Gilani lists a 1,600 mm internal height and 800 mm wheelchair tray width, subject to the selected configuration. Confirm the actual vehicle dimensions and load rating for the specific vehicle under consideration.

Bring to the assessment

  • The wheelchair and the person who will travel in it, wherever practical
  • Occupied seated height, overall width and overall length
  • Wheelchair and occupant weight, including accessories
  • Number of other passengers and their preferred seats
  • Regular parking, driveway and loading conditions
  • Your occupational therapist or other relevant support person, if involved

Also check: entry angle, restraint compatibility, occupant belt fit, carer access and luggage space.

Common questions

Hyundai Staria wheelchair vehicle FAQs

Do you have a wheelchair accessible Hyundai Staria ready to buy?

Availability changes. Contact us for the Starias currently available, their conversion, seating, vehicle details and expected delivery. If nothing suitable is in stock, ask about sourcing and modifying a vehicle.

Can I buy a Staria and have Gilani Engineering convert it?

Yes, we can discuss vehicle supply and a tailored conversion. If you already have a Staria, we can assess whether its model, year and condition suit the proposed modification before quoting.

Does a wheelchair accessible Staria need a rear ramp?

Gilani offers conventional rear-ramp conversions as well as the G24 NoRamp® lowered-floor system, which does not require a traditional long external rear ramp. The suitable access method depends on your vehicle and wheelchair needs.

Can the wheelchair passenger sit in the second or third row?

Second-row and third-row configurations can be considered. The final seating arrangement depends on the selected conversion, wheelchair dimensions, other passengers and restraint layout.

Can a Hyundai Staria carry two wheelchair passengers?

Selected layouts may allow two wheelchair positions. Both chairs, their occupants, combined loading, available space and restraint positions must be checked against the specific design.

Will my powered wheelchair fit?

It may, subject to the wheelchair's full dimensions, occupied seated height, weight, controls and accessories. Bring the actual wheelchair to a trial where possible so entry, travel position and restraints can be checked.

How much does a wheelchair accessible Hyundai Staria cost?

The total depends on the vehicle selected, its condition, the conversion, seating configuration, restraint system and optional equipment. Contact us for a current itemised quote covering the specific vehicle and modification proposed.

Can my OT attend a vehicle trial?

Yes. Ask us to arrange a trial with the wheelchair user, their actual chair and their occupational therapist so the proposed setup can be assessed together.

Can the NDIS fund the vehicle or conversion?

Eligible vehicle modifications may be funded if they meet the participant's plan and applicable NDIS criteria and receive approval. The purchase of a standard vehicle and the modification are different costs. We can prepare a quote and technical details for assessment; confirm the funding position with the participant's NDIS contacts before ordering.

Do you assist buyers outside Sydney?

Yes. We welcome Australia-wide enquiries. Ask about vehicle availability, trial arrangements, delivery and handover options for your location; arrangements depend on the vehicle and destination.
