Wheelchair Hire Period in Sydney is available now at Gilani Engineering

What is hiring a wheelchair?

A wheelchair hire is when you take a wheelchair home with you whether it is to test out if it is suitable for you, or if you need the product only temporarily. If you have injured yourself and require a wheelchair for a short period, you can hire it out and return it when it's no longer needed.

How to hire a product?

There are a few ways that you can wheelchair hire.

You can come into our showroom, pick the wheelchair that you would like to hire, and you can take it home with you the very same day. Another way is to give us a call on 02 8740 8963 and we can help you over the phone. Alternatively, you can send us a completed HIRING CONTRACT via email on fadi@gilaniengineering.com.au or maria@gilaniengineering.com.au This way you should receive your product within 7 days of placing your order.

A few days before your hire period comes to an end, you will receive a notification. You can give us a call and extend the hire period, purchase the product or we can send you a return label and return it.

Steps for hiring a product:
  • Choose your product: Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns
  • Submit the HIRING CONTRACT at fadi@gilaniengineering.com.au
  • Contact us to advise you wish to go ahead with the hire
  • Download, fill and submit the HIRING CONTRACT attached below along with a copy of your ID
  • Once the payment is confirmed: We will book the item for delivery (if applicable, make sure your delivery address is correct).
  • Please contact us two days prior to ending the hire period: You will receive an email with a Shipping Label please apply this sticker it on the box
  • Once receiving the product back to our warehouse, one of our engineers/technicians will check the product for any damages or faults.
  • In the final step, you will then receive a thank you email

Can a purchase be made whilst or after hiring?

If you decide that you want to keep the product, you can call us and we can complete the purchase over the phone. Most hire fees will get deducted (see below to confirm what does and does not get deducted) The total will get deducted from the original price and all you do is pay the remaining.

What fees are not refundable from the hire fee when you decide to keep the hiring product:

  • Admin fee of $99 (it may vary)
  • Original delivery price 
  • Any assembly fee

What fees are refundable from the hire fee when you decide to keep the hiring product:

  • Hire fee of the item
  • Cleaning fee of $99 (it may vary)
  • Pick up fee
  • Any security bond

What Products can and can't be hired?

Most of our products can be hired including:

  • Electric Wheelchairs
  • Manual Wheelchairs
  • Mobility Scooters
  • Ramps
  • Patient Hoists
  • Vehicle and Boot Hoists
  • Tables
  • Stair Lifts
  • Accessories, baskets and shopping bags (along with any wheelchair)

The few products that cannot be hired due to hygiene reasons include:

  • Commode Chairs
  • Shower Chairs
  • Cushions
  • Mattresses
  • Bathroom Aids

How long is the hire period?

The minimum hire period is 2 weeks (14 days). You can hire out the product for as long as you want or you can make the hire period for an initial 14 days and then extend the hire period for as long as you need.

How much does it cost to wheelchair hire?

The cost to wheelchair hire or any product depends on the hire period and what the original price is. Gilani Engineering offers the highest quality products for the lowest prices. For a rate of only 0.06% of the product per day!

Can a hire be made outside of Sydney?

If you wish to try out a product prior to purchase but you live in other state or you are not able to come and visit our showroom, we do have the solution for you!

  • You need to consider all above mentioned hiring steps
  • You try out the product in your own home environment min 14 days
  • If you decide to purchase the product
  • You can continue hiring the product to pay off the purchase price
  • Or simply pay the remaining balance of the purchase
  • Most of the hire fee will be reduced from the purchase price
