Well, the GED09 is a universal adjustable power chair and has plenty of exciting hidden features making it a truly special foldable electric wheelchair. The GED09 is suitable for virtually any individual regardless of needs, lifestyle, weight and size.
What are the GED09 Foldable electric wheelchair variations?
The Falcon Foldable Electric Wheelchair is the latest addition to our inventory of Electric Wheelchairs at Gilani Engineering. Its unique reclining backrest makes it stand out amongst the electric wheelchairs on the market as it provides extra comfort and flexibility to usually rigid electric wheelchairs.
The GED09 Foldable Electric Wheelchair armrests can be widened from 5cm- 10cm and become a bariatric electric wheelchair providing extra width and room for your comfort. As all our wheelchairs have a capacity of 180kg, this bariatric wheelchair is both sleek and compact whilst being heavy duty.
GED09 wheelchairs are a special kind as they are portable and compact. Weighing only 25kg with batteries included and having a maximum capacity of 180kgs they are the most heavy-duty durable lightweight foldable electric wheelchairs on the market.
But what makes the GED09 Foldable Electric Wheelchair Range Special?
Durability:Â
Made out of lightweight strong aluminium GED09 Foldable Electric Wheelchairs are built to last a lifetime and weigh only 23kg! The durably built frame along with the ergonomics of this power chair means that its maximum weight capacity is 180kg!Â
Since our GED09 has a maximum weight capacity of 180kg it is also considered a bariatric wheelchair in Australia.
Standard Electric Wheelchairs worldwide have a maximum weight capacity of usually 110kg-130kg and weigh from 23kg for lightweight power wheelchairs with a low weight capacity to 115kg for the heaviest duty electric wheelchairs.
Our wheelchairs weigh 23kg which is the lightest possible foldable electric wheelchairs on the market and is the most heavy-duty on the market.
Our GED09 has the weight capacity and strength of a bariatric wheelchair whilst having the weight of the lightest electric wheelchairs on the market.
Battery Power/Mileage:
The GED09 is equipped with two powerful brushless motors.
On the GED09, the battery can be checked by pressing the on button. The columns are filled to the top and show the COMBINED charge on both batteries.
The great thing about our GED09 Foldable Electric wheelchairs is that when both Lithium-Ion batteries are inside the wheelchair, they work together, so if one is drained completely and one is completely full, the wheelchair will show that it is 50% charged. To see the charge of the chair, the column on the joystick will show how much charge is remaining and is an average of both the batteries combined. Red light and a short column mean low charge, yellow light and medium column means medium battery and green light and high column means high battery.
To see the charge of the individual batteries, take a look at each battery to see how many green dots are present. If all green dots are lightened, it means that the battery is fully charged. If there are no green dots it means that the battery is drained.
The GED09 wheelchair range can travel up to 25 Km before draining.
Charging methods:
The GED09 wheelchair can be charged in 2 different ways.
The GED09 can be plugged in like a phone to the wall under the joystick. This charges both batteries equally when they are inside the chair.
The GED09 comes with an additional charger for the wall. This allows each battery to be charged individually when plugged into the wall.
By purchasing additional spare chargers and one extra wall battery, you can use your power chair all day and charge both batteries individually on the wall at the same time.
Interchangeable/ Transferrable/ Removable Joystick
- Left/Right Joy Stick
The left and right Joy Stick is easily transferrable for left or right-handed users
- Joystick for carer
Anadditional joystick can be provided for the carer to control the wheelchair.
All that needs to install is a wheelchair carer-operated bracketwhich we can do for you easily.
Flush Central Foot Rest
The unique central footrest is ideal for clients that need foot clearance when loading or offloading to the power chair. The central footrest does not get in the way of transfers and when folded up sits flush against the power chair.
Foldable Armrest
The Foldable Armrests on the GED09 are a handy feature that can easily be folded up and out of the way. Once folded up, the wheelchair can easily fit under dining tables, restaurant tables and office tables making it a truly universal and convenient electric wheelchair. The Foldable Armrests do not have to be removed or taken away by another person as the wheelchair user can just conveniently unlock and push up the armrests out of the way.
Anti-tip wheels and electromagnetic braking system:
Much like a Car, our GED09 Foldable Electric Wheelchair range implements a smart electromagnetic braking system meaning that breaking is done automatically and safely without effort. Once your wheelchair is off, you are physically unable to move it ensuring that you remain safe between transfers. If your carer wants to push you instead or if you want to move the electric wheelchair whilst it is off, just flicks the two red switches at the bottom back end of the wheelchair and your wheelchair is now transformed into a manual wheelchair that can be pushed. This is also a handy feature if you run out of batteries in an emergency situation.
What modifications can be done to my wheelchair?
Bariatric Widening is an easy breezy wheelchair modification that can be done by installing our widening kit to the sides of the wheelchair that gives you up to 10cm of extra width.
Since the wheelchair has a maximum capacity of 180kg it is also considered a bariatric wheelchair in Australia.
Standard Electric Wheelchairs worldwide have a maximum weight capacity of usually 110kg-130kg.
Our GED09 has the weight capacity and strength of a bariatric wheelchair.
For individuals requiring extra neck or head support, we can modify the electric wheelchair with a removable and adjustable headrest.
Similarly, if you prefer to flip away footrests with a leg support that can be elevated we can modify the electric wheelchair to include these features.
