No Ramp. No Lifting. Just Drive.
NoRamp┬о Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Conversion Australia
An internationally patented rampless wheelchair vehicle conversion, backed by a 7-year warranty.
The NoRamp┬о system lowers the vehicle floor to ground level at the press of a button, giving wheelchair users direct rear entry without deploying an external ramp. No ramp to extend behind the vehicle. No manual lifting. No wasted space in tight car parks.

Most accessible conversions give you one option: a ramp. Gilani Engineering builds both ramp-based and rampless conversions, so the system is matched to your vehicle and how you'll use it day to day. NoRamp┬о is our patented rampless option, and the one most families choose. To compare ramp-based lowered floor conversions, visit our wheelchair access solutions page.
Designed and installed by Gilani Engineering at our Wetherill Park factory in Sydney, supplied for clients Australia-wide тАФ VSCCS certified, ADR compliant, and tested to 500kg with a safe working load of 380kg. Available on the Hyundai Staria, Kia Carnival and Honda Odyssey.
Over 80% of our wheelchair vehicle conversions use the NoRamp┬о system, because once families use it, they don't go back to a ramp.

Certification by a Licensed VSCCS Certifier
In NSW, vehicle modifications require certification under the Vehicle Safety Compliance Certification Scheme (VSCCS). Gilani Engineering's conversions are certified by Ramin (Ray) Gilani тАФ VSCCS Vehicle Safety Certifier, Transport for NSW, Licence #170005, held in-house rather than outsourced to a third party.
This means your conversion is assessed and certified by a qualified, state-licensed vehicle safety engineer on our own team, not sent away for sign-off after the work is done. Official ADR information is available via the Department of Infrastructure тАФ Australian Design Rules. NSW VSCCS information is available via Transport for NSW.
For a full overview of the rules that apply, see our guides on the legal requirements for wheelchair accessible vehicles in Australia and how engineering certification works.

What Is the NoRamp┬о Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Design?тАЛ
The NoRamp┬о design is a rear-entry, ground-level wheelchair access system that lowers the vehicle's floor to meet the ground, removing the need for an external ramp. Instead of a ramp the user wheels up, the floor itself comes down, so entry is level rather than inclined
Here is how it works:
1
Open the tailgate at the rear of the vehicle.
2
Press the button тАФ the internal lowering floor system brings the floor down to ground level.
3
The wheelchair user enters directly, on the level, and is secured with the restraint system.
4
The floor raises back to driving height, ready to travel.
Because there is no ramp extending behind the vehicle, the NoRamp┬о system can reduce the clearance needed at the rear compared with many traditional ramp-based conversions тАФ which makes everyday parking in standard bays, driveways and tight spaces far more practical.
Which Vehicles Are Compatible with This Conversion?
The NoRamp┬о ground-level system is available on selected vehicle platforms, including:

Hyundai Staria
A modern people mover with generous interior height & a wide rear opening, well suited to taller powered wheelchairs.

Honda Odyssey
One of the most widely used WAV platforms in Australia, valued for its interior space and flexible seating configurations.

Kia Carnival
A compact, easy-to-drive option that suits smaller households and tighter parking while still providing level rear access.
Hybrid Kia Carnival and Hyundai Staria variants may also be suitable, subject to engineering assessment of the specific model and battery layout. Contact our team to confirm whether your hybrid vehicle can be converted.
Compatibility may vary depending on model year, seating configuration and intended application (private or WAT). Additional vehicle platforms may be introduced subject to engineering assessment and compliance requirements. If your preferred vehicle is not listed, contact our team for an engineering assessment.
Who is Authorised to perform this Conversion?
In Australia, the NoRamp┬о system is supplied and installed by Gilani Engineering, in accordance with applicable Australian Design Rules (ADR) and state vehicle modification certification requirements.
The NoRamp┬о system is internationally patented and built for regulated vehicle modification environments. Installations are completed to align with relevant Australian Design Rules and state-based compliance schemes, covering both wheelchair accessible transport (WAT) and private vehicle classifications where applicable.
As the installer, Gilani Engineering manages the full process in-house тАФ engineering, installation and VSCCS certification by a state-licensed vehicle safety certifier on our own team. This keeps design, build and sign-off under one roof rather than split across separate providers.
Ground-level rear entry pathway allowing wheelchair access to the front driving position.
First-row driving access depending on vehicle platform and interior configuration.

NoRamp┬о Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Conversion тАФ Frequently Asked Questions
A NoRamp┬о conversion is a rear-entry, ground-level wheelchair access system. Instead of an external ramp, the vehicle floor lowers to meet the ground at the press of a button, allowing the wheelchair user to enter on a level surface. It is internationally patented and installed in Australia by Gilani Engineering.
A ramp conversion requires a ramp to extend behind the vehicle, which needs additional space to deploy. NoRamp┬о removes the external ramp entirely, allowing the vehicle to park in standard bays, driveways and tighter spaces while providing level wheelchair access.
The NoRamp┬о system is available for selected vehicles, including the Hyundai Staria, Kia Carnival and Honda Odyssey. Hybrid Carnival and Staria models may also be suitable, subject to an engineering assessment of the specific model and battery layout.
