Swivel Car Seat Australia | Vehicle Transfer Seat | NDIS Approved Installation
Struggling to get in and out of a vehicle safely? A programmable swivel car seat provides a powered, controlled solution that rotates and lowers outside the vehicle, allowing users to transfer with minimal effort and maximum safety.
This vehicle transfer seat is designed for individuals with reduced mobility, wheelchair users transferring into a seat, and anyone requiring safer vehicle access. Installed by Gilani Engineering, this system is widely used in NDIS vehicle modifications across Sydney and Australia.
Video Demonstration тАУ Swivel Seat Operation
This demonstration shows how the swivel seat rotates outside the vehicle, lowers for transfer, and lifts the user back into position safely.
What Is a Swivel Car Seat?
A swivel car seat, also known as a turning seat or vehicle transfer seat, is a powered mobility solution that rotates and extends outside the vehicle, allowing the user to sit comfortably before being lifted and repositioned inside.
This system removes the need for difficult movements such as stepping up, twisting, or manual lifting, significantly improving safety and independence. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}
How the Vehicle Transfer Seat Works
The system is operated using a handheld remote control. The seat rotates outward through the vehicle door and lowers to a comfortable transfer height. Once seated, the system lifts and rotates the user back into the vehicle.
This controlled movement ensures consistent, safe transfers with reduced physical strain for both users and carers. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}
Designed for Real Mobility Challenges
This solution is ideal for individuals who:
- Struggle to step into vehicles
- Require assistance from carers
- Transfer from a wheelchair into a seat
- Have limited strength, balance, or coordination
It is commonly used for stroke recovery, spinal injuries, osteoarthritis, multiple sclerosis, and general mobility limitations. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}
Why Choose a Swivel Seat Instead of Standard Entry
Standard vehicle entry often requires complex movement that can be unsafe or impossible. A powered swivel seat removes these barriers by bringing the seat outside the vehicle, lowering it to a usable height, and returning the occupant safely into position.
- Reduces transfer effort
- Improves independence
- Increases safety during entry and exit
- Reduces risk of injury for users and carers
- Provides consistent and controlled transfers
